Depth-Enhancement Technology Developed in Ireland Expands Patents through EU and Asia

Los Angeles, Calif. (March, 2010) – RealView Innovations, a developer of optical technology located in Ireland, has announced that it has been granted patents in the European Union and Japan on its Depth-Enhancement technology. Additionally, patent applications are pending in the United States, Korea, China and Hong Kong and are expected to be granted in the near future.

Depth-Enhancement Technology was first developed for the medical world in order to enhance depth cues hidden in existing images. RealView’s team of optical engineers have discovered a way to use this same technology in a variety of areas such as large screen monitors and even in handheld video game systems like the Sony® PSP™. 

By mid 2010, RealView plans to launch the “Deep-Screen” that will bring the technology to 22” and 42” television monitors for the home entertainment market.  

“RealView’s main focus is on optical technology that offers an effect similar to 3D but does not require any accessories like glasses or software,” stated Eamonn Ansbro, Founder-Director of RealView. “We’ve developed a screen that simply covers the monitor, providing a stunning level of depth and vibrancy.
